The process to make ECONYL® fiber consists of 4 main steps:
01_RescueThe ECONYL® Regeneration System starts with rescuing waste, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic all over the world. That waste is then sorted and cleaned to recover all of the nylon possible.
02_Regenerate Through a radical regeneration and purification process, the nylon waste is recycled right back to its original purity. That means ECONYL® regenerated nylon is exactly the same as virgin nylon.
03_Remake ECONYL® regenerated nylon is processed into yarns and polymers for the fashion and interior industries.
04_Reimagine The beauty of ECONYL® regenerated nylon is that it has the potential to be recycled infinitely, without ever losing its quality. We believe circular design is the future and using ECONYL® is our first step on that journey.
Recycled polyester process (12 plastic bottles = 1 meter of fabric):
1. Collection of plastic bottles ♻️
2. Selection and crushing
3. Polymer creation
4. Transformation into polyester fibers
5. Preparation of threads 🧵
6. Recycled polyester fabric
7. Stamping process (involving 0% water💧)
